The story

"WHITEWASH 1"

Whitewash 1 divides the Grayton shoreline into three horizontal bands of breaking surf. White foam alternates with strips of turquoise Gulf water, and pale sand enters at the bottom as the nearest wave recedes. The overhead viewpoint removes the horizon and turns the repeated breakers into a striped pattern. Rhythm comes from the spacing between each wave and the changing texture of the foam.
